CPS Annual Meeting 2007
This year's annual meeting of the Connecticut Psychiatric Society promises to be very enjoyable and lively. Following a brief business meeting there will be a reception with drinks and delicious hors' d'oeuvres where members will be able to meet new friends and catch up with old ones. Then comes dinner and an excellant keynote speaker, Dr. Sally Satel. Dr. Sally Satel's talk is entitled, "A Psychiatrist Analyzes the Politics of Trauma... And Other Front-Page Topics in Mental Health." Her presentation will be stimulating and well articulated and will provoke lively discussion. Final 2007 Medicare Physician Payment Update

| New State CME Requirement |
Begining October 1, 2007, the act requires a physician applying for license renewal to have completed at least 50 contact hours of continuing education during the previous 24 months. A "contact hour" means a minimum of 50 minutes of continuing education activity. It must (1) be in the physician's practice area; (2) reflect the physician's professional needs in order to meet the public's health care needs; and (3) include at least one contact hour of training or education in infectious diseases (e.g., AIDS, HIV), risk management, sexual assault, and domestic violence.
