FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
March 26, 2026
Dear CPS Members,
We are pleased to share recent media coverage highlighting the Connecticut Psychiatric Society’s leadership in advancing mental health crisis response across our state.
In response to recent events in Hartford, CPS issued a statement calling for stronger crisis response systems, including expanded involvement of trained mental health professionals, improved coordination with emergency services, and a continued commitment to de-escalation and equity in care. This statement was featured in CT Insider, and CPS President Dr. Jessica Abellard also represented the organization in an interview with NBC Connecticut.
